GRASS-FED AND FINISHED BEEF | PASTURE-RAISED PORK | PASTURE-RAISED CHICKEN

ABOUT US

Primal Roots Farms is a local, humanely raised, environmentally restorative livestock farm located in southwest lower Michigan.
Our farm has been providing southern Michigan, northern Indiana, and the Chicagoland region our all grass fed beef, pasture
raised pork and chicken since 2017.

We believe nature has things figured out already, so our processes always try to mimic the way they would be found in nature.

100% Grass Fed and Finished Beef
Our cattle eat our “salad bar” pastures exclusively, we don’t feed them any grain.  They grow at a more relaxed pace and we think
it’s better that way.

Pasture Raised Chicken
Our chickens eat pasture, bugs and non-GMO grains from a local Amish feed mill.  Birds are outside at 3 weeks of age, spend
rest of life outside in fresh air, sunshine and pastures that we move them through. We use a day range system where the birds free range in a pasture during the day and sleep in an open air coop at night.

Pastured Pork
Our pigs are rotated through their own pastures, where they can dig in the dirt, eat bugs and plants and non-GMO grains from
the Amish.

It is our focus on the animals eating our pasture plants that sets us apart. Everything is pastured based. We don’t use any herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics or hormones. “You are what your food eats.” And you can’t have good health if you don’t eat nutritious food.  Plus it tastes so much better.  Come try it for yourself, you won’t believe the difference!

All of our products are processed at USDA or state inspected facilities, depending on the customer.

What Our CUSTOMERS Are Saying

I placed your beef roast in my crockpot and realized I was feeding more people than what the roast was sized at so I went to a top chain grocery store and bought the same cut of meat to fill out the pot. (Your meat was on the left, the other on the right.) 8 hours later it was time for dinner so I pulled out the meat from your farm and then also the meat from the grocery store. Out of curiosity, I tasted both meats in what seemed to be a self-induced, side-by-side taste test and I was blown away by your meat. I mean seriously? Your meat had FAR more flavor than the top chain grocery store. It’s consistency was perfect, the overall texture, look and feel were also a bonus, but I have to go back to the abundance of flavor your meat had versus the now, unmentionable, purchased meat from the store. After tasting your meats, I find it impossible to go backwards and buy meat from anyone else.

Thank you for caring so much about your animals to bring that enormous quality to my table.
